About Department

The Department of Health and Hospital Management aims to offer a degree programme the field of Health and hospital management. Graduates are provided in depth knowledge of health services management so that they can fulfill the needs of this new emerging area in the Saudi Arabia’s health sector.

Courses are designed bearing in mind that health and hospital management is developing a separate discipline parallel to the medical and paramedical professions to support professionals of health services provider in delivering their services free of administrative worries. In this programme students acquire hands on knowledge in the fields of health and hospital management that is auxiliary in nature to health care professionals.

 Student will also be given exposure to research and development in health and hospital management and learn innovative techniques in this field. 

Our vision is to become a department that provides specialist knowledge in health and hospital management to support medical and paramedical professionals in performing their functions. We visualize our self becoming a best educator in this discipline that is second to none.

Mission

To educate and produce graduates with higher qualification in Health and Hospital Management with a capability to compete with the students of other universities in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East by earning their reputation of best performers in health management sector with best attitude, right skills and a higher degree of professional knowledge.

Objectives

We aim to offer very practical and enjoying learning environment where students build their Health and Hospital Management career in order to;

• Develop competence in Health and Hospital Management to support medical and Paramedical profession.
• Develop skills for efficient management of health services and reduce burden of all administrative activities from the medical professionals.
• Support clinical managerial and strategic decision making.
• Develop students’ competence in effective health and hospital management to manage business in a way the business stake holders are able to get up to date information for their decision making.
• Support the managers of health profession in delivering health services.
• Develop information management skills for use in health and hospital management services delivery.
• Understand international health and hygiene standards and compete in international job market.

Health and Hospital Management Department Program Overview

Students opting for specialization in Health and Hospital Management will get bachelors degree in Health and Hospital Management from King Abdul Aziz University. They will study the core subjects in Health and Hospital Management given in table 3 and table 4, and will follow the following study plan applicable to the department of Health and Hospital Management.
